TRUSTEES
CARYL BILLINGHAM MBE
Caryl has been a trustee since the inception of the Trust. She is Brackley born and bred, brought up in a local business and educated at the High School for Girls in Banbury Road. She has a degree in Modern Languages and worked for Cantor & Nissel Limited in Brackley for 34 years. She was a town councillor from 1975 to 2012 and a district councillor from 1990 to 2021.
She is involved with several local charities and organisations and thus aims to “keep her finger on the pulse” of Brackley for the benefit of all. She was awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours of 2016 for “services to the community of Brackley”.
ALLAN BOYLAND FCCA
Allan is a Brackley resident and ACCA qualified accountant with broad experience working in senior financial roles across a range of charitable and business organisations.
Allan became a trustee of the Saints Communtiy Trust in 2022, working alongside the other trustees to both secure the continuity and long-term sustainability of the Trust and the positive impact it provides the local community.
JANENE BUTTERS ACMA
Jan is a newly appointed trustee, but no stranger to the Trust. She was the driving force behind setting up the Trust with Caryl in 2021. She is a Derbyshire lass moving to Brackley in 2004 after following a successful finance and operations career in the retail sector to become the proud owner of her pub, The Greyhound Inn, where she creates a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere. In addition to owning the pub she is the CEO of Brackley Town FC and has been since 2013. She leads the club with a focus on sustainable growth, community engagement, and fostering a culture of success both on and off the pitch.
Her combined experience in leadership, finance and community development enables to make a meaningful impact across various sectors. She is enthusiastic about creating lasting value for the people of Brackley and businesses of Brackley. She doesn’t have lots of spare time but commits to caring for her disabled younger brother, and over the years has been seen racing at the Brackley Soapbox Derby, a dance contestant in Strictly Brackley and giving her time to Brackley carnival Committee, not forgetting she is an avid Eastenders follower and clothes shopaholic.
ADRIAN JONES
Ady is a retired Programme Director; having gained his HND in the Armed Forces (Army, REME) and an MBA from the Open University Business School, he has spent 30+ years with FTSE100 organisations delivering and supporting complex software programmes and projects to the Aviation, Service and Local Government markets.
Ady’s interests include WW1 & WW2 history, DIY, cycling and rugby. Ady is an active member of the Brackley Branch of the Royal British Legion (Treasurer) and has been involved with the Saints (Brackley) Community Trust since August 2023 where his focus is fundraising, becoming a trustee in February 2024.
JANINE LAY
Jan has been a trustee since the inception of the trust supporting the community. She moved to Brackley in 1988 teaching in a local primary school, becoming Deputy Headteacher in 1991, involved in safeguarding, Special Educational Needs and school management, and retiring in 2016.
She joined Brackley Town Football Club as a volunteer in 1997; she has helped in a variety of roles and is at present supporting the Saturday football youth group 4-6 year-olds.
IAN LEASK
Ian was brought up in New Bradwell (now part of Milton Keynes) and in 1973 took the massive step to advance his knowledge by working in the growing computer industry. This step resulted in establishing a family life, latterly in Silverstone, before moving to Brackley in 2000. As a Senior Management Consultant in IT Services in the UK and Northern Europe, he retired in 2006 and considered how he should give his support to the local community.
As an ardent Arsenal supporter, he volunteered his services as a Steward at Brackley Town FC, and, when the chance arose, relished the opportunity to be a Trustee of the Charity.
STEPHEN TOGHILL
Stephen is a boy from the valleys and followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a football referee at university, finally qualifying whilst training as a solicitor in Birmingham. After over 25 years he “retired”, as he became increasingly involved with Brackley Town as steward and Head Steward for 15 years including a “memorable “performance on the line as an injury stand-in against Workington!!
After qualifying in Birmingham he moved to Buckinghamshire where he practised as a Litigation and Criminal Defence Lawyer for the next 40+ years. Aside from the Saints he was involved, whilst in Buckinghamshire, with Marlow FC and the High Wycombe Referee Society.
In retirement, he is locally involved with the Annual Poppy Appeal, Katharine House Hospice and the Canal & River Trust as a volunteer.
